Badagoni, Saperavi 2018, Georgia
Badagoni, Mukuzani 2017, Georgia

In Georgian “Saperavi” means ‘color’ and one look at this wine will provide you with the reason behind its name. This is one of the most important grape varieties of the Caucasian area and it was widespread in Europe during the XIX century. A historic wine in Georgia, it can be considered the forerunner of the world’s great red wines. One of its noteworthy properties is that it can resist prolonged drought as well as quasi Siberian temperatures.

Mukuzani appellation controlled dry red wine. The wine is made from 100% Saperavi grape variety grown in Mukuzani mico-zone of Kakheti region, Georgia. The relatively austere soils and lack of water stresses the vines, resulting in small, intensely concentrated fruit clusters that make deeply pigmented, assertive wines rich in body and tannin.

This dark-ruby-colored wine has a complex bouquet with an easily detectable cherry aroma. The wine is an excellent dinner companion.
